Directions- Dublin to Belle Isle

The M3 is being constructed and this is causing bad hold-ups in Dunshaughlin, Navan and Kells on the N3.

This alternative route to Belle Isle is strongly recommended.

From Dun Laoghaire follow signs to M50 and then on to M1

From Dublin Port follow signs to M1

From Dublin airport travel North. Toll bridge will cost €1.80 (change is given in right-hand lane). Turn off to Ardee on N33 and (N2 Derry) after 33 miles from Airport.

After 5 miles roundabout take second left on N33 (N2) Derry and immediately another roundabout- second left signposted N2 Derry.

Continue on the N2 for 12 miles and turn left signposted Ballybay (it has no road number on the sign but is the R180)

Roundabout- take the third exit signposted Ballybay on the R180.

Immediately another roundabout again take the exit signposted Ballybay on the R180.

Continue for 13 miles to Ballybay and turn left in the middle of the town signposted Clones (it has no road number on the sign but is the R183). After 5 miles there is a roundabout- take second left sighposted Clones/Newbliss on the R183. After another 6 miles turn rights in Newbliss signposted Clones on the R183.

After a further 5 miles on entering Clones turn right signposted Enniskillen on the R183. At traffic lights go straight across signposted Enniskillen on R183 (A34-A4)- then another set of traffic lights- go straight across (there is no signpost).

R183 becomes A34 after 1 miles and after 5miles there is a roundabout in Newtownbutler. Take third exit signposted Enniskillen and Lisnaskea on the A34. After 6 miles Lisnaskea- straight through and at roundabout at the end of town take first left signposted Enniskillen A34. Then immediately bear left to Carrybridge on the B514. Cross the Colebrooke River and take the third turning on the left from the bridge signposted Carrybridge. Turn immediately right signposted carrybridge. After about a miles and a half, at a 'T' junction turn left. (There is a sign for Belle Isle), The entrance to Belle Isle is on the right afer half a mile.
